Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Convertcy mobile application (“the App”) collects, why it is collected, and what choices you have. The App is published by Yauheni Manko, trading as Owl Developer, 2/4 Kwitnących Jabłoni, Warszawa 02-757, Poland (“we”, “us”).

The App is free to use and supported by advertising, with an optional paid Premium subscription. Using the App means you agree to this policy.

In short: you do not create an account, and we do not ask you for your name, address or payment details. Prices you scan with the camera are recognised on your device and the photos are never uploaded to us. The App does use third-party services for advertising, analytics, crash reporting and subscription management, and those services collect identifiers and usage data.

No account and no directly collected personal data

Convertcy has no sign-up, no login and no user profile. Your currency list, selected currencies, app settings and conversion counters are stored only in the App’s local storage on your device. We have no access to them, and they are deleted when you uninstall the App.

Camera and price scanning

The camera is used only while the price scanning screen is open.
Text recognition runs entirely on your device. Camera frames are processed locally and are not sent to us or to any third party.
When you use Freeze, a still image is saved temporarily in the App’s private storage so that it can be displayed and shared. It is released once you leave the frozen view.
When you use Share, the image is passed to whichever app you choose in the system share sheet. What happens to it after that is governed by that app’s own privacy policy.

Exchange rates

The App downloads exchange rates from our rates endpoint and from public central-bank sources. These requests fetch rate data only; they do not carry personal information about you beyond the technical connection data inherent to any internet request, such as your IP address.

Third-party services we use

The App integrates the following services. Each of them may collect information under its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to read them.

Google AdMob — serves advertising. May process your advertising identifier, approximate location derived from IP, and ad interaction data, and may personalise ads where you have consented. Google advertising policy
Google Analytics for Firebase — measures how the App is used (screens opened, features used, purchases). Uses an app instance identifier. Firebase privacy
Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash and diagnostic reports, including device model, operating system version and the state of the App at the time of an error.
Firebase Remote Config — delivers configuration values to the App.
Meta (Facebook) SDK — measures app events and advertising attribution. Meta privacy policy
Adapty — manages Premium subscriptions and validates purchases made through the App Store and Google Play. Adapty privacy policy
Apple App Store / Google Play — process the purchase itself. We never see or store your payment card details.

Categories of data collected

Identifiers — advertising identifier, app instance identifier, device identifiers used by the services listed above.
Usage data — which screens and features you open, how often you use price scanning, whether you subscribed.
Diagnostics — crash reports, performance and error data.
Purchase data — which product was bought and whether a subscription is active. Not your payment details.

We do not collect your name, email address, postal address, contacts, photos library, precise location or health data.

Advertising and your choices

In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the App shows a consent form before personalised advertising is enabled. You can change your choice at any time from the App’s settings.
On iOS, the App asks for App Tracking Transparency permission. If you decline, tracking across other companies’ apps and websites is not performed.
On Android you can reset or delete your advertising identifier in the system settings.
Buying Premium removes advertising from the App.

Legal basis for processing (EEA and UK)

Consent — personalised advertising and, where required, analytics.
Legitimate interests — keeping the App secure and working, diagnosing crashes, preventing abuse.
Performance of a contract — providing Premium features you have paid for.

Data retention

Analytics and advertising data are retained by the respective providers according to their own retention schedules. Crash reports are retained for as long as they are useful for diagnosing the underlying problem. Data held locally on your device stays there until you clear the App’s data or uninstall it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal data relating to you, to object to or restrict its processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Residents of California have the right to know what is collected and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; we do not sell personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, write to info@convertcy.com. Because the App has no accounts, we may need additional information, such as your advertising identifier, to locate data relating to you.

Children’s privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

International transfers

The third-party providers listed above may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Those transfers rely on the safeguards described in each provider’s own privacy documentation, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Security

We use commercially reasonable measures to protect information. No method of transmission over the internet or of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with its “last updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted in the App or in the store listing.
